Subscribe multiple users, and default to no components

Hi guys,

This is a 2 part question.

Firstly, is it possible to create subscribers en masse, or do they have to be done individually? Everything I've tried so far seems to suggest the latter, meaning I have to add each email address manually.

Secondly, when I create a new subscriber they are, by default, subscribed to ALL components. Is it possible to amend this default so that initially they're subscribed to NO components? Again, currently I'm having to go into each subscriber after creation and toggle the components they're not interested in.
