I would like to create a component that represents the Tableau Dashboard A. A shows data from a query from a dataset B.
I would also like to create a component for B because some teams use B directly.
Is it possible to link those two components so every time I report an incident in B, A is also part of that incident and sends communications to its subscribers?
Thanks!
Hi Matthew,
While there is no feature that makes one component 'dependent' on another component, you can add multiple components to a group, and then when creating an incident, you would select the group, rather than the component.
First, add a group to the component:
Then, select the group when creating an incident and all of it's child components will automatically be selected:
Hi John, thank you for your reply.
Unfortunately, the components are already added to my team's group. Is there a way in which I can have more than one level of groups? E.g. creating a subgroup inside of a group.
Thank you!

Hi Mathew,
Currently there is no option for parent-child group relationships, however I did find a feature request already in our system for adding component groups as subgroups.
