Hi everyone,
I’ve been using Statuspage.io to manage incident reporting and communications for our team, but I’m running into a few challenges when trying to integrate it with other tools in our workflow. Specifically, I’m trying to automate certain processes to ensure that incident updates are reflected across all platforms in real-time. However, I’m not sure how to best integrate with external systems to make this smoother.
I’ve seen tools like TG Macro being mentioned in different forums for automation purposes. Does anyone have experience with using similar tools to help automate the status updates or incident management process with Statuspage.io? Are there any best practices for improving automation workflows or handling incident notifications more efficiently?
I would really appreciate any tips or advice from those who’ve tackled similar challenges with Statuspage.io.
Looking forward to your feedback!
Hello Sienna,
This is Jesse from the Statuspage support team. Welcome to the community and thanks for the question.
Automation can get pretty in depth depending on what you're trying to do but generally speaking, we have a few ways to automate that you may want to look into further.
You can automate your components using email automation:
https://support.atlassian.com/statuspage/docs/get-started-with-email-automation/
Essentially, you send an email to the component to determine if it is down or up. We also have articles within that article that talks about New Relic and Pingdom.
There are ways to automate incidents using tools like Opsgenie and Pagerduty. These IM tools can be integrated with Statuspage to communicate the incidents. We also work with JSM so you can add Statuspage updates within JSM.
The Manage API is another thing you can use to automate Statuspage. If you are into scripting, you can pretty much accomplish anything in Statuspage using the Manage API
Hopefully, this gives you some options to use for automation!
Regards,
Jesse
