we have 4 different jira instances for difffent businees units. we are planning to consolidate the instances to 1. one of the impact what we could see with priority field(system field). we have different values in all the instances like .
Instance 1: priority : Critical,Severe,Important,Minor,Unprioritised(default)
Instance 2:priority :sev2,sev2,sev3,sev4
Instance 3:priority :High,medium,low
we cant add all the values to one field of one instance as it creates confusion for users.
Any suggestions on this would be highly apprieciated.
You're pretty much stuck. I'd strongly recommend getting your users together and talking them through using a standard scheme.
Your other option is to stop using the internal priority field and use a custom field instead, but you'll lose all the built-in priority reporting.
