Slack integration and threading

We use the slack integration with Opsgenie, and, generally, try to hew to the convention that discussion of an alert happens in a thread under that alert. It keeps the channel nice and clean.

However, when an alert is closed or acknowledged, the message announcing that goes to the channel, which kinda defeats the purpose.

It struck me that it would be nice if the slackbot would reply to the original alert message with any updates on the alert, rather than to the channel generally. It would also make it much clearer what it means by "alert #532".

Are there any plans to implement something like that, and is it even possible with the slack API?

Hi @Colin and welcome to the community,

You can watch opsgenie roadmap here -> https://www.atlassian.com/roadmap/cloud?selectedProduct=opsgenie

And about the API, have you search here? https://docs.opsgenie.com/docs/alert-api

Hey @Alex Koxaras _Relational_, can you explain more concisely if this will be considered on the Atlassian team?

Thanks

HI @Fabiano Amaral ,

I don't really know. I'm not part of Atlassian.
