Hi, I'm trying to use the /genie command in our Opsgenie for Alert Slack integration, but none of the commands work. No matter what /genie command (help, list, connect, etc) we run we get a message in Slack "Oops. Something went wrong. Maybe try that again?".
I've tried to run a '/genie connect' to connect my user, a '/genie list' to list open alerts, etc. None seem to work - they all generate the generic error message. This occurs whether in a direct chat or one of the channels we have setup for alerts.
We do have the slack integration setup in a few alerts channels and it works if we get an inbound alert from another system - we can see the alert from Opsgenie in the slack channel and interact with the options to close it, acknowledge, etc so that side of the integration is working.
What is not working is any interactions with the /genie command.
Anyone have any direction on what might be the issue or how to troubleshoot?
Hey Nathan, Alan from the Opsgenie Support team here.
While we can look further into this on a support ticket(Which I believe you have in progress already), one thing to check for starter is that the "Execute Commands" option is enabled for the integration, as per our documentation:
"Execute Commands" Option
"Execute Commands" option is used to determine the integration which executes the genie command.
The reason to do so is that Slack registers slash commands for the whole team, but more than one Opsgenie integration can be installed in Slack.
Only one Slack integration can have "Execute Commands" checked for a Slack team.
"Require Matching a User" option is determined by the same integration that has "Execute Commands" option selected as slash command will be associated with this integration.
Regards,
Alan
