How to automatically create an alert in Opsgenie when a ticket in Jira ITSM is created

I have tried searching the Community (and Google) for this exact scenario, but nothing useful has come up.

In our Opsgenie instance, the integrations option is unclickable. Only Slack can be configured under integrations and we cannot seem to set any other kind of integration.

Although, it seems like Jira service management is set up under 'Connected Apps'>Atlassian Products.opsgenie2.PNG

Our current dilemma is: how can we configure Jira Service Management and Opsgenie so that whenever an issue is created in Jira Service Management, we automatically receive an alert in Opsgenie?

Hi @zoya.aboujaish ,

It sounds like you are on a plan that doesn't offer "Global" integrations in Opsgenie. If you are on JSM Standard plan, or Opsgenie Essentials plan, you can only add integrations to a specific team

So if you go to one of your teams in Opsgenie, you should have an integrations tab on that team where you can add integrations. If you want to have alerts created in Opsgenie when an issue is created in JSM, you'll want to add the Jira Service Management integration, which is different than that "Connected Apps" section you're seeing.

The JSM integration allows you to have alerts automatically created in Opsgenie when an issue is created in JSM.

The Connected App allows you to manually link OG alerts to JSM issues.

Hope this helps!

Thanks,

Samir
