How can I run automation scripts in Opsgenie Cloud ?

I want an incoming alert to trigger an automation script - python or powershell - to handle further actions.

Do I have to install OEC to achieve this or are there tools already available in Opsgenie Cloud ?

The automation rules  that I use for Jira Service Management does not seem to be available for Opsgenie

Hi @Mogens Hald Kristensen ,

It sounds like you might need OEC for that use case of triggering a script. You can customize the script to preform some action depending on if the alert is created, ack'd, etc.

The closet thing Opsgenie has to JSM automation rules would be alert policies which can modify an alert at creation - but not when other actions are taken on the alert.

Alert policies cannot trigger a script outside of Opsgenie. OEC would be needed for that.

Thank you Nick. The answer is as expected -  I need OEC and it will have to be installed on a server on-prem or in the cloud - there is no SaaS OEC :-(
