When I manually create an alert and the incident and then associate the alert to the incident, the association works. I did it this way for testing purposes to see how it worked.
When I try to associate an alert and incident that came into Opsgenie via other than my manual creation, the association does NOT work.
I am the incident commander (in learning) and would like to associate alerts to P1 / P2 that come into the system. What is preventing me from being successful?
Thanks, Randy
Hi @Randy Everett ,
Nick from Opsgenie support here - I believe we have a ticket open about the same issue.
What seemed to be happening is you created an incident manually. This is turn creates a Responder alert(s) to notify responders, users, teams, etc. of the open incident.
At this time, a Responder alert cannot be associated to an incident. This is also by design though. Alerts not tied to an incident are only able to be associated.
