Hello, happy to join this group
Hi everyone. I am new to Jira and excited to be here. I started using Jira about 3 weeks ago. So I look forward to learn more from the expertise in the community and improve my ability to use the tool in my Business Analyst career. Thank you!
Hi @Obert Randi ,
Welcome to the Atlassian Community!
I did not prepare a speech, can I have my candy anyway.
I'm not new to Jira and here for Kudo points.
I've been deeply engaged with Jira since 2005.
I hope I can lend assistance.
Honesty is always the best policy. Extra kudos for that!

Hello all,
I had heard about Jira, off and on, for a while. Basically every time I took a run at project management. I tried it out about the time Atlassian bought Trello as Trello was (and still is) an imperfect fit for what I still need.
I had walked away from it as also not suitable at the time, but am comming back now because nothing else seems to be, either, and Jira seems to be adaptable enough to be worth another shot. Though I am in an odd business for it. (Writing and publishing, with some digital art, music, and other creative endeavors in the works but not ready yet.)
I am mostly looking at Jira for two major aspects:
1) workflow management of the publishing and production side of things.
2) Intellectual property management. Specifically what I have licensed out where (such as if I get a short story accepted to a magazine, at what time can I put it in a collection and publish it on my own?) and what's do for maintenance (Cover checks etc.)
I am currently using Air Table for my database, and am hoping to be able to use the data back and forth between software (I'm investigating some of the plugins for that on both platforms.) Honestly, I'm not sure Jira's the right place for this, but I haven't been able to find anything else that's more suited to it so I hope I can make it work here.

Hi All
I heard about Jira early 2022, when I was looking for project management tool to use in our business (Complementary Medicine).
I presented to our management team and they were happy with the features the tool is giving, we are looking to deploy as R&D team.
I am interested in Project milestones dependencies, critical path, gantt chart, and impact of delay on overall project.
Hi @Mohamed Fouad ,
Welcome!!!
Welcome to the Community @Mohamed Fouad !
Thanks @Mayur Jadhav & @Darryl Lee for the welcoming and thanks @Hana Kučerová for the post.
I have question linked to synchronization between Biggantt & Jira.
"why the start and end date aren't synchronized between Jira Software and Big Gantt?
If I change a date of task in Gantt, it doesn't reflect in Jira."
Have I to change some configurations?
thank u
Hi! I am the Development Director at Illinois Legal Aid Online in Chicago. Most of my colleagues have used Tempo for their time sheets, but some of us on the Admin team just started using it this month. I am only using it as a time sheet for now bc I have my own project management system. So far I like it and I have it on my google calendar so I remember to log my time every day.
Welcome to the Community, @Alexa Markoff!
My first introduction to Jira was about 4 years ago when I was working with a team on several sales and marketing projects. Now, I am a Jira admin and a product owner working with a nonprofit. My team has started utilizing Jira to implement Salesforce products and develop various solutions. Jira and Confluence are giving us all the tools to manage our projects for now.
Hi everyone,
I am happy to be here. Even though I'm really not new to Jira I'm still learning something more about it nearly everyday.
When did you first find out about Jira?
I first found out about Jira in December 2020.
Where are you in the process of adopting Jira?
As we are a Marketplace Partner we have Jira in full used, so much configured, so many add-ons installed and are using for everything. (And I mean EVERYTHING but it's really awesome!)
Which topics about Jira are you interested the most and what would help you?
I'm really interested to see how other people use Jira and how they work with it. And as someone new to project management I'm really interested how Jira transformed that for other people. Something I lately find really interesting is how Jira helps large organisations manage their work. And I'm really curious to learn more about how Jira works at a huge scale.
Do you have any funny stories connected to Jira?
Not that I can think of right now. If I can think of something or something funny happens to me, I'm definitely sharing it with the community.
Hello!
Let's get this show on the road, eh?
Hi All,
Myself working as Jira Admin for more than 5years and actively answering in Community. Happy to join this group!
Hi! Brand new to Jira. Another department started using it about 5 years ago but I didnt have much use for it then. Now I'm supposed to be setting up our IT Help Desk to use it and not having an easy time of it. Really struggling on figuring out where everything is and how to set it up. This is kicking my butt and I'm one that is known for picking up on this type of stuff quickly but I feel like I'm in quick sand with no Tarzan around to help me get out!!! Most of the video's seem to be on project management but I need more task management help. Help with learning how to add my own tables for things like building/room numbers. Everything seems to focus on software development and deployment and I need more end user hardware/software failure, installation of hard/software, account provisioning, type setup!
If I'm spinning my wheels trying to set this up please let me know that as well too!
Virginia
Welcome to the community @Virginia Hagerty ! You are starting to setup up your service desk. Make sure you have Jira Service Management. It is built on top of Jira Software and is focus on the service side like IT, Helpdesk, HR, Facilities, etc. It comes already with templates to help you get started.

We have Jira Software, Jira Service Management and Jira Work Management. So far my only project is under Service Management.
Hi,
I'm a freelance translator. The first time I heard about Jira was three days ago, because I have got a client who request my services but want the job to be done using Jira.
The project starts within a week. That's why I'm here to learn about the basics, and possibly adopt the platform.
Welcome to the community!
Thank you
Hi everyone,
So I've been hearing about Jira for a long while and I decided to jump on it a few months ago and try it for a personal project and I'm loving it thus far. It's very easy to use and very newbie-friendly. There's always a hint here and there to guide you along the way.

Thank you very much @Summer Hogan
I'm fairly new to Jira, I'm coming from a law background and looked into Jira and Confluence to upskill myself for a new field. I really like how integrated it is with Confluence and how it works smoothly from what I've learned so far.
You'll love it, it can help organize pretty much anything. Sky is the limit with this software suite Welcome!
Hi Everyone, I am new here and I have used Jira effectively only for the past 1.5 year, I must say I am loving it every day

Hi there, I am new to Jira and I believe in this use-case, we are using it to test and publish newsletter? The learning curve seems a little steep, and I would welcome any tips if any.

The new Kudos rewards said to also introduce myself here, so hello!
I first heard of Jira about a month ago, so I'm still very new! My company has been using Jira a lot, but my team didn't adopt it until recently. We are using it for tracking progress through our workflow, finding hold ups and keeping members accountable. I figured out automation of the Kanban board pretty quickly, but now to upgrade and revise to make the process even better.
welcome @Jess Sherman!! So happy to have you :D
Hello and Welcome, Jess!
