Hi All, I am working in Jira now for a couple of months. Last week had a speed course on Jira Admin. Started to gain more information on it. That is why I joined now the community. Hoping to also contribute to this community later on. Living in Holland and I am a PO on ServiceNow as well.
When did you first time find out about Jira?
Where are you in the process of adopting Jira? Only considering it or already implemented and looking for some extension?
Which topics about Jira are you interested the most and what would you help you?
Do you have any funny stories connected to Jira?
I found out about Jira job hunting and from a friend of mine that got into an IT role this year. Currently using it more as a project management tool, where I sort out most of my music production tasks as well as a few work tasks. Looking to implement Jira at work fully.
I am interested in Jira administration software.
Hi 👋, let me share a bit about my experience with Jira :)
Hey everyone, my name is Janice!
I first heard about Jira through working with a tech company fresh out of my design bootcamp. My current team and I use Jira and Confluence quite regularly, I am still learning bits and pieces every single time I use it though. I reckon I feel quite new to this.. I would like to learn how to best use Jira/Confluenece for documenting as a designer. :) Looking back, I do not have any funny stories, more so how aware I am now of what I could/should be doing with Jira. :D
Hello @Hana Kučerová
Well, I had a trial by fire initiation to Jira, which now sounds funny as well!!
While working on a critical project back in 2016, the SVP asked if I could help her with some dashboards in Jira, and till then my only experience was to update the stories assigned to me. For some reason, I agreed to help (till date have not been able to understand why I agreed) and have not looked back as yet. Since then I have helped multiple teams adopt Jira and align the goals for even enterprise-level adoptions.
The latest additions to Jira like Automation are absolutely game changers and fun to explore!!
I have experience in Jira over the past 2 1/2 years and have been a person who is interested in getting to know new features.
Tools JSW and Advanced Roadmaps have seen more improvement in the cloud over the past year, so excited to learn and share the knowledge with the community.
Thanks,
Pramodh
Hello
Everyone, Just started with a new job where use Jira and confluence a lot. It looks like a great programma's so far en curious to explore the possibilities!
Hi Everybody,
I have started using Jira back in 2006 only as an end-user. Since 2019, I've been more focused on Administration and providing support both for Jira Software / JSD and Cloud to customers and using a lot of ScriptRunner. Since 2020, I have started contributing to the community whenever I get some time.
I am looking forward to working with the community.
Regards,
Ram
Hi everyone!
I started to use JIRA as a user in the 2007 and, from 2011, I started to become a JIRA Administrator.
Right now I help customers to adopt and customize JIRA especially in an enterprise context.
I'm also a full stack developer so I developed a lot of apps for Jira.
See you in the community!
Hi there!
I started using Jira about 10 years ago. I have been around the Community for a few years, answering and asking whenever I have some time.
I mostly like JSM, Insight and Automation for Jira. Really enjoying the new level of integration in Jira Cloud.

Hi everyone, I came to know about Jira in 2020 when working on a peer-to-peer app with a couple of other developers and the lead dev was raving about Jira and Confluence at the time. Honestly, we used it for half of the project, then moved to another resource to wrap up the project. It was little overkill for our project at the time, but I look forward to learning more about Jira as it seems very robust. Cheers!
Hello everyone,
My name is Gonchik.
I started supporting Atlassian Applications in 2012.
My teacher of JQL in Jira in the open-source project was @Julia Atlygina :)
She made me fall in love with the product, and after that, she herself became a vendor (ALM works).
Which was motivation for me, after I do automation based on the diff apps and script engines, performance overview of different installations.
Also, I do love to make migrations and upgrades.
Feel free to reach out to me if needed.
Nowadays I like JSM in cloud. :)
Cheers,
Gonchik Tsymzhitov
Haha, cute :) I too have warm memories of those times!
Hello,
I first started with Jira in 2013, really nice to see how it has grown to what it is now.
Best part of Jira -- is the vibrant and active community.
happy to learn more in this journey!
Hello, I just started using Jira and Confluence at work for the first time this month. Its been quite an interesting experience.
Hello, I've been using Jira at my previous company for over four years. This was our primary bug-filing and tracking tool.
Now at my new company, I have been made the administrator of our Jira database. However, I have little experience actually administering Jira, and I need to spend some time reading documentation on how to do just that.
For example, I would like to add states to the Status Workflow, and I would like to figure out why some people aren't allowed to transition from one state to another.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I have used Jira for four years and am very familiar with basic Jira. I used to write JQL for custom dashboard reports. I have 30 years of IT experience as a project manager and scrum master all in IT.
Hi everyone,
This is Darryl, I am new here!
I am experienced with Atlassian product stacks and looking forward to contributing!
Hi All!
I'm Samir - I work on the Support team for Opsgenie at Atlassian.
I first started using Jira when I joined Opsgenie in 2018, and have used it daily since for interacting with our development teams via feature requests, bugs, support escalations, etc.
