ITSM/ESM Masters - Upcoming Event Call for Input!

Hey All JSM Admins!

Jovin here from the ITSM/ESM Masters chapter of ACE with a call for input from anyone and everyone!

Soon I'll be launching a series which will run every other month or so called:

🔀 Workflow Wizardry 🤖

The event will be up on ACE soon ready for registration, and it will be held in February 2025, but I want to make this be valuable for anyone and everyone. We'll be live building workflows & automations in these sessions, but rather than coming with my own idea of what to build I'd like to see what's been itching your brain in workflows & automations!

This can be anything around supporting the workflows that enable work in JSM, some ideas to get things going:

  • Implementing a review process for changes
  • Handing issues between agents & customers
  • Closing issues (making them read only)
  • Performing automatic checks or updates based on user input

If you can think of something that supports ways of working in JSM, then put it here!

Hi @Jovin , thanks for reaching out to all of us, sounds like a great ACE series! Would discussing appropriate uses of global looping transitions in workflows and walking through how to use them be applicable to these sessions? There is a good Atlassian Community article on this from 2021 but I would appreciate a better understanding of what they are and when/how to actually use them.

@Susan Waldrip Absolutely! I'll be sure to cover that in one of the series, it's a great topic and you can do some powerful things with the looping transitions too.

  • Sydney, Aus - 3:30am
  • Perth, Aus - 12:30am
  • New Delhi, India - 11:00pm
  • Berlin, Germany - 6:30pm
  • New York, USA - 12:30pm

We did build an custom workflow for change management with 4 levels of approvals. Though I was new to JSM, I liked the way how we can build workflows with ease.
