How to download a confluence page in a Word document with the formatting on.

I always wondered as to how I can create document sections in confluence and download the content in a word document, the output should be in word format with the section headers and font formatting etc. including tables. Would that be possible in confluence.

When viewing the page you want, you hit the 3 dots in the upper right, then go to Export -> Export to Word.

Then just follow the prompts and get your Word document.

oh, I may have misread -

I don't recall seeing headers in the resulting Word doc.

But you can create a doc with the headers/footers/formatting you need, then import the docs you get from Confluence into your prepared container doc.

I tried 'export to Word' before and tried again just to refresh my memory -

it creates a file with a .doc filetype, but word considers it a single file html document, or mhtml.

The file itself is not too bad, though its handling of the TOC macro is pathetic.

The output does include graphics and tables. Don't know if you can trick it into create section breaks.

Is there a reason you need section breaks?
