We believe in making our onboarding accessible to everyone. That's why we've chosen to release the onboarding process incrementally, right here in the Atlassian Community.

Today we're going to show you how to create your first template🎨. 

A template is a pattern that will allow you to create similar issues with no need to create new ones from scratch. Such a template will automatically fill fields in a newly created issue when selected by a user.

Steps

1. To create a template go to the Templates repository and simply create an issue there.
2. You can then further configure the template and decide whether it’s available to users, if it should copy sub-tasks, or to be used as a secondary template, and many other options.

Note: If there’s a missing field that you wish to include in your template, add it to the repository project.

Hint: The template copies all fields automatically. You can decide which fields you want to be copied using a Template scope. You need to have project admin permissions to create and modify the scope.
