In today's fast-paced world, time is a precious commodity, and anything that can help us save time and automate our workflows is invaluable.

According to a recent study by SnapLogic, 90% of employees are burdened with tedious tasks, costing businesses an average of 19 working days per year per employee. This productivity hit is frustrating workers, causing delays in projects and lagging behind competitors.

For teams and departments using Jira, the ability to auto-populate Jira issue fields can be a key in reducing minor tasks and automating repetitive processes. With this powerful capability, teams can efficiently streamline their processes and focus on providing exceptional products and services to their customers.

To help teams save time and optimize their workflow, we included an auto-populating function in our Smart Jira Forms add-on. The Destination Issue Fields feature allows teams in Jira to transfer field values from the submitted form fields to corresponding Jira fields, making it an essential feature for teams and departments looking to save time on forms data processing.

This feature works with various form elements, including text fields, text areas, dropdown, multi-choice, checkbox, radio buttons, date, date and time, number, URL, and custom fields in Jira issues. By using these elements, you can map over selected field values with values submitted through a form.

Where This Feature Can Come in Handy?

The Destination Issue Fields feature is a valuable tool for teams and departments that need to collect data from customers or team members and transfer it to corresponding Jira fields through Jira mapping.

  1. Support teams can use this feature to collect information from customers about their issues in Jira Service Management. After Form Submission fields will be automatically updated the corresponding Jira fields, such as the issue description, priority, and severity.
  2. Development teams can use this feature to collect bug reports from testers and update the corresponding field types, such as the summary or description for example including field like steps to reproduce.
  3. Marketing teams can use this feature to collect feedback from customers about new products and automatically update the corresponding Jira fields, such as product or rate.
  4. HR teams can use this feature to collect information from employees about their requests, such as vacation requests, equipment requests, onboarding of offboarding dynamic forms.

How to set up the Destination issue field for the Form element:
