Expose your beautifully crafted Dashboard through the Jira Service Desk Customer Portal

 

A picture is worth a thousand words, especially when you're trying to find relationships and understand your data. Here, Dashboards play a vital role in gaining insights from a variety of data visuals. It also simplifies data presentation, significantly as data complexity increases. 

The Basics

Both JIRA Software and JIRA Core allow you to create Dashboard (s) using several built-in and custom gadgets. Unfortunately, you cannot expose a dashboard on the Jira Service Desk Customer portal.

However, the Customer Portal provides the Requests Page (from the link at the top right corner of the portal), allowing users to overview the tickets they reported or shared with them.

Technically, you could expose Jira Dashboards to your Service Desk customers by providing application access to JIRA Software; however, that would involve additional Jira user licenses for customers.

Publish reports

JIRA Service Desk provides the customer organization feature for grouping customers. Customers can be members of multiple organizations and can be associated with numerous projects.

Publishing VIEW26 Dashboard to the portal is as simple as sharing the VIEW with a customer organization(s).

All published Dashboards are available for customers in Portal Page under the 'Charts & reports' dropdown (from the link at the top right corner of the portal)

I talked to the development team about this. Supporting custom fields created by other popular apps is in our roadmap.

@Priya _View26_ question: its not clear for me if is possible to genarete reports, with text fields only and so on. I saw the dashboards and kpis. 

Is there any kb with this info, please?
