will Jira work with OpenSSL FIPs enabled ?

arthur.ly February 4, 2020

in being truly FIPs compliant, we need to enable FIPs mode on in the OS, and in addition we need to enable FIPs in Open SSL... are there any components in Jira that uses OpenSSL?

Dear @arthur.ly ,

Jira is using Java. So Jira itself will not directly connect via SSL to somewhere else. Its calling functions in Java for this.

When Java is FIPs compliant, then Jira can do!

So long

@Thomas Deiler - is there a Atlassian doc you point me to that has more info regarding this?

Dear @arthur.ly ,

unfortunately I have no doc. But search the web if Java itself is FIPS compliant.

Sorry

Thomas
