Hi,
I'm installing Jira for the first time and I'm trying to set it up as a service.
Below is a snip from the procedure:
To set up JIRA to run as a service:
Open CMD. Change directory ('cd') to the JIRA installation directory and then into this directory's 'bin
' subdirectory.
Note : If a directory in the path has spaces (e.g. 'C:\Program Files\..
'), please convert it to its eight-character equivalent (e.g. 'C:\Progra~1\..
').
I understand what they mean, but I have no idea how to "convert it to its eight-character equivalent (e.g. 'C:\Progra~1\..
')."?
Does anyone know how to do this?
Thanks!
Kris
Hi Kris,
Running dir /x in the parent directory of the folder you're trying should do the trick. Have a peek here for an example.
Cheers,
Daniel
