You mean resolution field? It makes sense that you can't update it. In order to update a field it must be on the edit screen, since the resolution field can't be left empty you would end up with a resolution as soon as you edit your issue, and that is not what you want.

Do you want to change the resolution in a certain status. Then add a circular transition to that status and use a transition screen with the resolution field.
