@Fernando Eusebio Salazar Valencia

You said you the field was "included to a screen and assigned to a scheme".

This is ambiguous.

To what screen did you included the field?

Keep in mind that screens are associated with operations. Those operations are Create, Edit and View.

So if you want to make a field editable, one step is to add it to the screen associated with the Edit operation. Also the field context has to be either global or to explicitly specify the project and issue type you use the field for.

More than that, adding the field to a screen and the screen to a screen scheme is not ennough.

Your statement again is ambiguous, as scheme is not clearly if it is a screen scheme.

Assumming you added the screen containing the field to a screen scheme, you need to add the screen scheme to an issue type screen scheme.

This will map all your screens (Edit, Create and View) in the screen scheme with a specific issue type.

And also you need to add the issue type screen scheme to a project.

Only now, within that project, you will be able to edit your field.

Considering this is a time consuming operation, and if you deal with multiple fields, this becames a very tedious operation, and if you are open to using apps, you can use Fields Dashboard for Jira, an app released by our company.

In the Schemes, tab, you will be able to see in one place all relationship between fields-> screens-> screen scheme->issue type screen scheme->project at a glance.

You can filter only for the field(s) and project(s) you want or search for all.

You can export your data as csv for further investigation and reporting.

Regards,

If you go to "Projects /yourProjectName/ Project settings / Issue layout ", are you able to see the fields in question there?

Hi @Fernando Eusebio Salazar Valencia , welcome to the Atlassian Community and thanks for your question.

If you're an admin, you should be about to use the 'find my field' option, as explained here https://support.atlassian.com/jira-software-cloud/docs/find-a-field-on-the-issue-view/ .

With this function, you can confirm the screen and custom field configuration is correct. For example, you can have a field on a screen but if the field configuration is limited to one issue type or only a specific project, you won't be about to see or edit the field.

Hope this helps you, but if you have other questions, please let us know.

Cheers
