merging 2 Jira instances

Mark Stocker July 7, 2011

We have 2 Jira instances - one for Apps Maint and the other for Projects. I want to end up with a single DB so need to get everything in the Apps Maint copied across to the Project one.

There has been very little customisation done and I have replicated all custom fields across both and also created all the main projects and users so all thats left to do is get the tasks/issues imported.

I've seen the Jira Importers Plugin that seems to be able to import from other sources including CSVs.

Whats the easiest way to do this?

The best things to do is to import projects I guess. Take a backup of the instance with less projects to be migrated, Create dummy projects with the same configuration in the target instance and import the projects one by one from the backup.
