javax.xml.bind.UnmarshalException while Setting up Crowd in Jira

Ben S October 23, 2011

I am trying to connect to crowd from jira.

According to the documentation, I have everything right

Name: Crowd Server (just the name you give it in jira)
Server URL: http://localhost:8095/crowd/ (the url i'm using to access crowd)
App Name: **** (the "Name:" field from Crowd > Applications > [application name] > Details tab)
App Password: ************** (the "Password" field from Crowd > Applications > [application name] > Details tab)

I get the error message:

Connection test failed. Response from the server:
javax.xml.bind.UnmarshalException - with linked exception: [org.xml.sax.SAXParseException: The element type "HR" must be terminated by the matching end-tag "</HR>".]

Any suggestions on how to trouble-shoot this?

This was quite awhile ago. We somehow work around this issue and were able to successfully install.

Hi Ben,

I could find another customer case in which he was using a custom authenticator like Soulwing CAS for example. Are you using some different authenticator?

If the issue is not related to it, I suggest to open a ticket in our support tracket https://support.atlassian.com as such we can investigate that :)

Regards,

Rodrigo
