issue type security

Is it possible to configure JIRA such that, only certain users/roles can create/update certain issue types? If not, is there a plugin out there to do so?

Hi Gil,

I found a feature request regarding this here : https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JRA-5865. However, it seems that it has been resolved as 'won't fix'. However, you could comment on the ticket to let the, as there seems to be quite an active discussion regarding this feature in the comments.

Indeed, there are a number of tricks. None of them ideal as per the main request, but you can make Jira do it.
