Hello,

We are planning an upgrade of our JIRA server and we need a check-list of test cases to execute in order to verify that the upgrade is successful. Is there one you have or can propose?

Thanks.

Not that i am aware of but i tend to check this:

Before upgrade

  • Does all plugins exist in my destination version?
  • Read all release notes from current to destination version, make sure no functionality you rely on is changed. Same for critical plugins

After upgrade

  • Can i still login? (we use AD)
  • Does ldap still sync?
  • Does application links/activity streams still work?
  • Go through the list of all plugins. Are they all updated the latest version?
  • Check all plugins you deem as critical, simple functional tests for very important stuff
  • Does attachments/profile pictures still work?
  • Is still all tomcat settings correct? Verify all http/https ports you expect to be open. Check that the keystores are not replace by listing all certificates.
