Welcome to the community @Kamil Askerov

To be able to tag the people from the other project, you would need to check the following:

  • User Management - You first need to make sure that these users are part of your Jira site. To be able to check this, you need to be the organisation admin. When you create a site, you automatically become one, if you are not, please ask other admins to add you as the org. admin as they only have the permission to do this.
  • Browse projects and users global permission - You should already have this permission by default which is shown in the jira-software-users group

This is when you want to TAG people from the other projects. If you wish to tag the people to your project, you need to add them to your project and choose the role that you will grant to them. Two thing to keep in mind if you are adding people to your project that if your project is:

  • Company-managed - You would need to go to Project Settings -> People (choose the project role)
  • Team-managed - Project Settings -> Access (choose the project roles as well)

Project roles:

  • Administrator - has the full access to the Project Settings section
  • Members - create, edit, view issues, add comments, attachments, move issues between their statuses
  • Viewers - can only view issues, add comments and attachments, delete your own comments, delete your own attachments

You can tag your team mates in the project using the @ symbol.

Are you looking to tag the users from Jira Software to Jira Service Management project? Thank you in advance.

No, directly tagging users from Jira Service Management (JSM) in Jira Software isn't currently possible. This is because they are two separate applications within the Atlassian suite, with potentially different user bases.

However, there are workarounds to achieve similar notification goals:

Request Participants in JSM:

Agents can add users from either Jira Software or JSM as request participants in a JSM ticket. Once added, these users can be mentioned using the "@" symbol within comments on that specific ticket.
This functionality might require some configuration by your Jira administrator to ensure "Request Participants" is visible in the issue view.

Project Sharing (if applicable):

If both Jira Software and JSM pertain to the same project, you might be able to share the Jira Software project with relevant JSM users. This would allow them to be notified of updates through standard Jira project permissions.
