Hello!
we're interested in replacing trac with jira. we're a small company and would like to purchase only the smallest version of jira for 10 users.
we have several projects and we want to keep the possibility to open support tickets by our customers.
is there a way to allow creating project specific tickets without creating a (licensed/active) user??
couldn't find a suitable answer to this question yet
thanks in advance
m
http://www.dratone.nl/?p=13 might work for you to get issues created and followed up. But I'm not sure if your customers will be happy to see all issues, and to observe that anyone can go in and comment on whatever they want. What you are doing is basically opening up Jira as a forum where people create and do whatever they want on that particular project.
Or you can check out this issue - seems to do the same thing you want to do? : https://answers.atlassian.com/questions/26247/jira-as-pure-email-helpdesk-no-account-setup (comment from Andy Brook)

thats true! customer A should not be able to obtain any other customers nor their issues. we'll try to solve this via authentication against ldap and field customization. not bulletproof but should be working.
thanks for your input though!
