I would like to accommodate custom fields which is created inside the defect Issue type screen as Numeric field in the Dashboard across different Project. Is it Possible with the current gadgets?
Note:With Two dimentional Filter statistics widget,I can get fields from different Project. But A custom made field which is numeric is not populating as X/Y axis values
Jira offers some useful gadgets like Filter Statistics or Two Dimensional Filter statistics, but, apparently they do not support any custom field types. There is an article in the Atlassian documentation (https://confluence.atlassian.com/jirakb/some-fields-are-not-showing-in-any-dropdown-menus-of-dashboard-gadgets-922648656.html) written for Jira Server, which might also apply for Jira Cloud, which indicates the type of custom fields supported by these gadgets:
So, I'm afraid, that the numerical fields are not supported.
My advice is to look for better alternatives to these Jira gadgets. For example, our Great Gadgets app offers a very powerful Advanced Issue Filter Formula gadget that allows you to calculate and display numbers (sums, averages, percentages, metrics, KPIs) based on the custom fields of the issues from up to 6 filters.
Hope this helps.

In JIRA, accommodating custom fields of specific types (like a numeric field) in dashboards across different projects can indeed be challenging, especially when it comes to visualizing these fields in gadgets that typically support only certain field types. The Two Dimensional Filter Statistics gadget, as you've noted, is useful for displaying issues based on two fields, but it primarily supports fields that can be categorized (like statuses, priorities, assignees, etc.) and doesn't support numeric fields as X/Y axis values directly.
However, there are a few approaches you might consider to work around these limitations and include numeric custom field data in your dashboard:
Custom Dashboard Gadgets: Depending on your JIRA version (JIRA Cloud vs. JIRA Server/Data Center), you might have the option to develop custom gadgets that can handle numeric fields according to your requirements. This approach would require some development effort and familiarity with JIRA's APIs.
Marketplace Plugins: Explore the Atlassian Marketplace for plugins that offer advanced reporting and dashboard capabilities beyond the default JIRA gadgets. Some plugins are specifically designed to enhance dashboards and reporting features and may offer the functionality you need to work with numeric custom fields across projects.
JIRA Reports and Confluence: Another approach could involve generating reports that utilize your custom numeric fields and then embedding these reports into a Confluence page. Some JIRA integrations allow for dynamic reporting within Confluence, which can then be displayed on a dashboard-like page accessible to your team.
External Tools: For complex reporting needs, especially those involving custom fields and cross-project analysis, external tools like Power BI, Tableau, or even Excel can be used. By exporting your JIRA data (through JIRA's REST API or other means), you can leverage these tools' powerful data manipulation and visualization capabilities. This approach offers maximum flexibility but requires data to be exported and processed outside JIRA.
Scripted or Calculated Fields: Some plugins allow you to create scripted or calculated fields that can transform numeric custom field data into a format that can be used by the Two Dimensional Filter Statistics gadget or other dashboard gadgets. For example, you might create a calculated field that categorizes your numeric data into ranges, which can then be displayed in the gadget.
JIRA Query Language (JQL) and Filters: While you've found limitations with the Two Dimensional Filter Statistics gadget, using JQL to create specific filters that target your numeric custom fields might help. These filters can then be utilized in other gadgets that might not directly support numeric fields but can display issues based on the filters you've set up.
