Why are other tickets being unintentionally updated when modifying one ticket?

I’m experiencing an issue in Jira where when I modify one ticket, other unrelated tickets are automatically getting updated as well. Has anyone encountered this before or knows what might be causing this behavior?

  • What issue types are getting updates? If sub-tasks are updated, does a task update as well
  • Check for your automation rules in your project to see if something is causing this behavior
  • Check your workflows to see if there are any post functions in your transition rules
