Watcher added without being CC'd

Hello,

 

When our users create a Jira ticket via email, which is just a normal user with an email address in our AD and setup in Jira with no privileges at all, Jira then adds the recipient of the email as a watcher.

This doesn't cause any issue itself, unless the ticket is then moved to another specific project. We have tested it and only occurs when move to that one project.

Once it happens, Jira updates the comments section in a loop, using all the available resources and crashing Jira.

We have been able to find out the first time the recipient email for the ticket creation (it-tickets@company.com) was added as a watcher on the 12th of Feb, but we don't recall doing an update or changing anything on the system that could lead to that.

The only recent change, last week, we have done is moving from the legacy LDAP server to AADDS for authentication.

We have spent a couple of days trying to find out how to avoid the recipient email to be added as a watcher, to not avail. Have any of you seen a similar issue? If so, does someone has any advice/ideas to help us?
