Hello @Monisha Chandrasekar

Thanks for reaching out to the community. Please find the below pointers to consider.

  1. Commitment vs. Completion: The Velocity report's commitment value includes story points for issues added to the sprint before its start date, excluding those in unmapped statuses or those canceled before the sprint began. If issues were moved to a "Cancelled" or "Won't Do" status before the sprint started, they won't be included in the commitment calculation.

  2. Completion Status: Jira considers issues complete only if they are in the last column of the board. If the "Done" status is not mapped to the last column, issues may not be recognized as complete, affecting the Velocity report.

Steps to Resolve:

  1. Check Issue History:

    • Ensure that issues were added to the sprint before its start date.
    • Verify that the current status of the issues is not unmapped on the board.
  2. Board Configuration:

    • Navigate to Board > Manage workflow.
    • Ensure the "Done" status is included in your workflow and mapped to the last column on the board.
    • Go to Board settings > Columns and statuses and move the "Done" status to the rightmost column.
  3. Workflow Adjustments:

    • If the "Done" status was removed, re-add it to your workflow with the same name.
    • Save and publish the workflow without adding incoming transitions initially.
    • After confirming the reports are correct, you can add any necessary transitions.
