User access

enrique carranza September 4, 2019

Currently, any user can access Jira Software with a personal account.

They should only access with a business account set up by the administrator.

How can users be prevented from accessing Jira Software with accounts other than commercial accounts?

Thanks in advance for the help.

Hi @enrique carranza ,

The issue being faced by you can occur if you have configured your "Site Access" to  allow "Anyone can join".

To check the current configuration and resolve this issue,

  • In your Jira Instance, switch to Settings > User Management> Site Access
  • Check the section "Who can join your site".
  • There are 3 options in this section: 1) Only invited users can join 2) Anyone with one of the following email address domains can join 3) Anyone can join
  • You would have selected "Anyone can join".
  • Select one of the other 2 options (Only invited users can join OR Anyone with one of the following email address domains can join) to resolve this issue.
