Updating Service Desk from 3.1.x to 3.2.x

How can I update JIRA Service Desk? What is the procedure for it.... shouldn't there be an auto update mechanism?

You have to first upgrade to JIRA 7.2. Once you are in 7.2, you can automatically upgrade it.
