I'm looking for a way to stop email notifications to user's based on their Project Role (e.g. Partner) or via a User Group without having to modify each & every issue they have (1) reported or (2) watching. Some of these user's are the REPORTER on issues so a Custom Field of the User Picker type would not work.
So, are you saying that you want to restrict the email notification of all users in a particular Project Role or Group? So, let's say that a reporter is scheduled to receive an issue notification for an Issue Commented event. But, if that reporter is also part of the "No Email Notifications" group (that you set up), then the reporter does not receive an email? Is that a correct scenario?
If I am right about your scenario, I don't believe that is possible without some specialized software being written.
