We have an hierarchy of epics and tasks with dependencies between the tasks.
I created a scrum board based on filter and added a timeline to the board.
The timeline does not present the scheduled bars and their dependencies although the tasks are assigned to sprints.
What am I missing?
Hello @Anna Bronshtein ,
Looking at the screenshots there is no indications of a sprint dates in the Sprint Row at the top of the timeline, this is indicating that the sprint do not have star and end dates set.
If you navigate to the backlog and look at the sprints what are the dates set to?
Example:

@Earl McCutcheon Thank you for taking the time to reply.
The sprints dates are defined properly
The timeline view is working properly when based on a project, but when based on a filter they are missing.

Hi @Anna Bronshtein ,
Thanks for confirming, and that is weird, I'm not sure why this is failing to show up. So, at this point, I want to get in the instance and get a closer look at what is going on here.
I see that you had created a support request for this that looks like it was opened and then closed by you, possibly in error. I went ahead and re-opened the request and assigned it to myself, but let's follow up in the Support portal and do some more troubleshooting here:

Earl

Thanks for the additional details, @Anna Bronshtein 👍
Please tell us exactly how you are creating a "filter timeline." In other words, if the project board (default) timeline works as expected, we'll need to examine what filters are being used and how they may be impacting your filtered timeline.

To learn more about how your timelines are configured please read this page carefully: What does the project timeline show?
Note, for example, the timeline uses Start Date and Due Date (not End Date) by default.
Disclaimer: I do not have Jira Cloud Premium myself, as you do. I might be missing something here and I hope others will feel free to speak up.

@Dave Rosenlund _Trundl_ The definition is to use the sprints for the timeline and it does work in the board which is based on the project and not filter

Thanks for the additional details, @Anna Bronshtein. I'm stumped, and no one else has spoken up, so I am going to escalate this post to Atlassian and ask them to speak up.
If you'd rather not wait for a response here, you can contact them directly yourself by opening a support ticket.
Best of luck to you,
-dave
P.S. If you contact them directly, please return to this thread later and share the resolution, so others may benefit.
