The plugins which are not used in jira

Özerk Dolanbay December 19, 2013

Hi guys,

We have lots of plugins uploaded so it is really hard to decide whether a plugin is used or not. Is there any way to find out the plugins which are not used in our instance?

Thanks in advance for your answers.

There is no way to do this. You will be able to find some usage. For example, usage of workflow elements can be found by looking at workflow XMLs, gadgets by querying database etc.

But I can give you lot of examples where it is really hard to find usage. For example, you cannot tell for sure if a web action is used or not (without poking through access logs). You cannot find usage of JQL functions without looking through all filters or doing regex search in DB. These functions might also be used elsewehere - For example, in creating a greenhopper swimlane or in a REST call which is outside of JIRA!
