Hi.
We have a Jira4 license and wish to upgrade to v5, but first I want to make sure that it is possible to upgrade and keep our database, settings and plugins intact.
Do I need to ask for an evaluation license while testing with v5 while v4 is running in production?
Or can I run on the old v4 license during the test?
Thanks.
Hi Andreas,
if you setup a new test system, you need a new developer or evaluation license for v4. You can generate the license by yourself in you attlassian account.
Best regards
Thomas
In my case I've created a new instance with the Jira5 connected to a new database (you can connect to the same as v4).
And I'm using the same license of the v4 in the v5 while I do the try-outs and the testing, especially in cases that you have do test the plugins for the v5. No problems for now.

Note that this is for tests only and just for a while. When you finalize doing the tests you can do a complete export and import using the xml export tool in the jira (only in case your v5 is connected to other database).
