RSYNC with JIRA

If i would like to rsync a JIRA instance, if i rsync /data/atlassian/app-data/jira would that be fine?

or I need to rsync installation directory as well?

I would take all to make sure you don't have any differences and don't forget database. But yes it should suffice with JIRA_HOME dir.

Ok thank you, I have taken the mysqldump and JIRA App-data directory by excluding cache and log directory.

If you have RSYNC to move files. Please help me with below steps.

  • Where we need to execute that command form /Var or bin ?
  • While running this command in prod, Do we need to stop Jira services
