Project Link among 2 jira instances

I configured Aplication Links between 2 Jira instances and then in instance 1 - project A a project link to instance 2 - Project B.

I expected to see in the Summary Section of Project A, in its activity stream, changes in project B. But it doesn't show any, only those in project A.

What are the actual uses of Jira project to project links??

Thank you!

As activity stream shows the activity about that current project I'm not sure if it's possible to have activity from some other project.

If I'm not wrong, application links are used so you can do mentions to issues from other instances and create links between them.
