Possible to retain email attachments within mail body as embedded attachments in issue description

https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/JIRA043/Creating+Issues+and+Comments+from+Email explains that email attachments will become attachments to the JIRA issue.

Each embedded attachment is replaced by a message indicating the JIRA attachment name

(Embedded image moved to file: AAAA.XXX )

Can i influence this text? I'd like to make it

  • !AAAA.XXX! for images (XXX in jpg, png, gif, ..) so that the images are shown again embedded..
  • [^AAAA.XXX] for non-images, so the user can click the link where the object was intended

Without this, the comments & issue descriptions coming from incoming emails are more difficult to read.

Thanks for any suggestions

Interesting idea, I'll add this to JEMH as https://studio.plugins.atlassian.com/browse/JEMH-880
