Original Story points not showing up on Plan view

Bibin George August 22, 2024

We are using Jira Data Center 9.15

Original Story points field is a locked field, and has been added to the screens. We are able to edit and view it in issues screen.

On Advanced Roadmap/Plan view, we are unable to find or add the field under custom fields.

Has this field been removed from Plan view?

Hi @Bibin George

That's weird, but I'd first ensure that the Story Points field is configured correctly in the field configuration scheme associated with the projects you're including in your Plan.

If everything is as it needs to be, I'd then check the field mapping in your Plan settings to ensure that Story Points field is correctly mapped and included in the view.

I hope it helps!

Hi @Tuncay Senturk ,

Thank you for your response.

Just to make sure, I am referring to the field ORIGINAL STORY POINTS.

We are able to see the field STORY POINTS in the issue screen and add it to the Plan view. But not the OSP field. It is only visible on the issue screen. I checked the configuration scheme (we use a common scheme for all projects), and mapping in the Plan settings.

Could you please check custom field (OSP) context. If the field is restricted to specific issue types or projects, it may not appear in the Advanced Roadmaps Plan, I suppose.

OSP is a locked field. When I view the details, the context says Issue type(s): Global (all issues)

There are four other fields that are specific to Advanced Roadmaps - Parent Link, Target start date, target end date, and Team. All these fields are locked and the context is the same. But the two fields I am unable to see in the Plan view are Parent Link and OSP. I can add the other three fields to the Plan view.

That's strange, the devil is in the details. I can't reproduce it though. Sorry I couldn't be of more help.

I appreciate your help. I have couple more questions since it works in your setup.

  • Are you able to edit the contexts for OSP? Or is the field locked?
  • In the Plan view, how do you add OSP? Does it show up in Fields list? Or do you have to add it to custom fields list in settings?
  • Are you able to add parent link to the plan view?
