New version jira and old backup

JConstantine September 3, 2019

I have jira backup from 15-08+2019

I install a new version of jira to a new computer. But in a new computer, I can not restore the backup, because the data is too old.

The old version Jira was JIRA 6.4.9 (is so in old README.txt), but i installed all updated

What should I do?

You should install the JIRA 6.4.9 version on your server
https://www.atlassian.com/software/jira/download-archives

Then restore your backup

After this you need to run it in multiple stages, 6.4.9 to 7.0.0 then to 7.1X.X then to 8.0

If you try to do it without multiple steps you are going to get issues with your data.

Thank you very much for the prompt reply.

Should I download all of this version and install it manually?

You only need to download those versions that you upgrade to. Follow standard upgrade instruction, its usually pretty straight forward but check the upgrade instructions at each step just to be sure.

You can find the 7.0 and above versions for download here:
