Have a look at

http://confluence.atlassian.com/display/JIRA/Customising+Email+Content

That will lead you to the right file to look at, but I seem to remember that the emails refer back to the language packs, so you'll actually need to read http://confluence.atlassian.com/display/JIRA/Customizing+Text

Both of those are for 4.4, but they're valid for 3.something_quite_low onwards

Hi Nic I hope you are fine today

I am unable to locate the file ,I am using default language

so i think i should edit jira-lang-default-4.3.4.jar

should i extract it or any other way to modify it?

what do you suggest ?
