Mid-sprint reporting

Peter Nemšák September 23, 2019

We have a more-less standardized one-week long internal sprint for our internal board.

Part of the team can work on a client sprint, in a different board, which is planned for 2 weeks though.

Thus, when trying to get a common sprint burndown, etc. for internal sprints, I could use a way to constraint the sprint report info in the 2-week sprint to the week that corresponds to our internal sprint to get joint data.

Other way it could be done - assign some tickets to 2 sprints at once - thus being reportable in both client's sprint and ours. But as far as I know, this is not possible, as you can only assign a ticket to single sprint.

Any ideas how to do this, apart from reporting both sprints separate and joining the numbers together manually?

(yes, we could do "copies" of the client's sprint tickets, but that's just further clutter in data)

Hi Peter,

Answering this question here as well, Natively on Jira, there's no way via the UI to split the Sprint report, as that particular Sprint is what will be calculated till its completion. Doing that manually is feasible outside the context of the report on Jira. However the manual process you mentioned, if you could automate that by designing your own Script that would be another angle you could look into as currently to report different sprint at once is not currently supported. A feature request has been created here on Ability to Allow Multiple Sprint Value on a Single issue for dual reporting

Feel free to add yourself as a watcher, so you will be notified if such feature will be feasible in our Development Roadmap.

Cheers,

Prince
