Linked issue opens in a new tab - didn't do that last month

Very recently, each time I click on a link in an issue to open a linked issue, it opens in a new tab.  When interacting with a Story and several subtasks, I end up with 5-6 extra tabs that I have to close each time. 

This just started happening in the last month or so, so I'm wondering if there is a setting to change that so linked issues will open in the same tab/window.

Hi,

not much helpful, but i Have the same topic. I think it is not Atlassia. 
In my case it happens since last update of browser. so i think there is the issue . But i did not found it yet .
