Jira upgrade version to 7.13

Avi Nash March 4, 2019

Hello,  Currently my jira version is 6.3.12 and planning to upgrade to 7.13. As this is a major upgrade I planned to upgrade to 7.0.x followed by 7.13.x and this is server hosted app with Postgres DB with current version 8.4.20. Here are my questions:

1. Do i need to upgrade my db version before i upgrade jira version. If yes, as atlassian recommends 9.4/9.5 Postgres for 7.13.x jira version. Can i upgrade my db to Postgres version 11 or only to 9.4/9.5

2. or Can i upgrade jira version on Postgres db 8.4.20?

Thanks in Advance

Hi Avinash,

I am not on the Jira Team, but I will try to help.

According to the Supported Platforms page the supported versions for Postgres for Jira 7 are 9.4/9.5.  Postgres 11 is not yet supported (even for Jira 8.0).  Looks like Postgres 8 is not supported either.

I hope that helps!
