Jira Company Managed Scrum board, the only issue type available to use is 'Bug'.

Aditya Lakshminarayanan February 5, 2025

Hi,

So, I have been trying to use the Scrum board (Company Managed Template) So I am trying to add items into the backlog section although the only option available is 'Bugs', I can't find tasks, sub tasks, stories etc). I have tried everything, editing the issue type screen, layout etc.

I used the team managed template, and it seemed to work on that, as all the issue types were available (except sub-task).

Please help !!

Hello @Aditya Lakshminarayanan

When creating a new project, what exactly did you select?

If you sete ted the Software Development groups and the the Bug Tracking template that would create a project with only the Bug issue type.

If you selected Software Development and then Scrum, you should've gotten a project with more issue types by default.

Regardless, you can modify the Issue Type Scheme associated with your project to add more existing issue types to your project.

Select Project Settings on the project. Select the Summary option. There you will see many pieces of information about the project. In the top right corner you should see Issue Types.

If you click on the name of the issue type Scheme that will open a page showing the issue types in the scheme. You should see a button in the upper right corner. If you click that button you should find an option to edit the scheme.

From there you can add more issue types to the scheme.
