Jira Business Project to set Parent field

Greetings - I'm new to automation and looking for any guidance here.  We are using Forms feature on a Cloud Business Project. At the moment, it doesn't look like you are able to add the Parent field to a form. Bummer!

So my thought was to create a custom field (single select) that I could use within automation to set a Parent field, based off the selections in my custom field. 

Custom field: single selection 

- one of the options = New Year 2025

I understand how to add a condition to identify New Year 2025, however I'm stuck on how I can get this to add an action to set to a specific Parent. 

Any suggestions welcome :)

Hi @Jaime Shomock -- Welcome to the Atlassian Community!

First thing, and just to confirm: you didn't call your new custom field "Parent" did you?

Back to your question...

You may directly enter a smart value when setting the built-in Parent field by typing it in.  When the smart value appears below the field, select it for use in the edit.

Correct the custom field is "Marketing Projects"

I will attempt to set a smart value & follow up here (or mark resolve)  :)
