JIRA issue displaying Confluence content

Bruce Becker February 18, 2013

Is there a way to bring the content of a Confluence page and view it in a JIRA Issue? (Like an excerpt but across the two products) We have a lot of technical documentation that users compose in Confluence pages and having a link to the page in JIRA is workable, but not as intuitive as seeing the content.

Hi Bruce,

It is not possible for us to bring content from Confluence pages to JIRA issues at the current moment. When setting up application link between JIRA and Confluence:
- we are able to link JIRA issues to Confluence pages via remote linking
- we are able to use JIRA issue macro in Confluence pages to display issues from a filter
- when adding a JIRA issue URL, the URL will be automatically converted to JIRA issue macro, and the remote link will be automatically created in JIRA

However, it may not be possible for us to have the content of Confluence pages to be displayed in JIRA issues, and vice versa.

I hope that this clarifies the matter.

Thanks.

Hi Bruce,

We have created an Addon that can do exactly what your asking- C4J presents the relevant Confluence content directly in a special section on the Jira issue itself so you do not have to follow the links. Also you can view the page make comments and have all macros available to the user in Jira.  see:https://marketplace.atlassian.com/apps/1222263/c4j-content-display-for-jira?hosting=server&tab=overview

Best regards,

Yaniv
