JIRA 6.2 64 bit startup failed on Ubuntu 12.04 64 bit

Hello ,

I have vps ubuntu 12.04 , java 64 bit 1.7 oracle and jira 6.2.

When I ran it first time for installation then it ran and setup perfectly .

But when i tried to access it again after some time at http://xxxx:8080.. It is taking hell lot of time

and subsquently showing me error some plugins.

ERROR :

JIRA Startup Failed

The following plugins are required by JIRA, but have not been started:

  • Gadget Directory Plugin (com.atlassian.gadgets.directory)
  • Atlassian Navigation Links Plugin (com.atlassian.plugins.atlassian-nav-links-plugin)
  • Atlassian JIRA - Plugins - Gadgets Plugin (com.atlassian.jira.gadgets)

I already increase time out to 300 .. but what the hell is happening :(

Can you please tell me what is the problem ???

Jira 6.0.2 run perfectly on my ubuntu 32 bit system . What the hell problem is with this jira 6.2 on 64bit ?/

Hey Sven .. it's long back .. but as far as I remember above point didn't help me out .. I think I switched to some lower version of jira . More importantly, jira takes around 650MB at startup itself .. so you shud run it on atleast 1GB ram . Thanks Amit Aggarwal

Try increasing timeout to -Datlassian.plugins.enable.wait=600. Also check catalina.out for any errors.

I think I had something like this awhile back and I can't remember what ultimately it was but, try checking permissions on the application directory and subdirectories.
