Issue Burndown Chart is broken

Those new to the Atlassian Community have posted less than three times. Give them a warm welcome!
Please look at the attached issue burndown chart. On day 2 of this sprint a team member added new issues to the version. Rather than showing the correct spike in number of issues, it looks broken. Is there is a configuration change to be made to fix this?
